W26-27 Bausch and Lomb "American Agriculturist Compound Microscope", late 19th century. This trim and rare little microscope with its huge name, stands only 7 1/2 inches at minimum height. It is signed "Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. Rochester, N. Y." on its plated brass tube and its gilded full name is cast into the iron base and reads across the entire front portion. The unit has no case, but is otherwise complete with, eye piece, two objectives, three stop wheel, stage clips, and 7/8 in. swinging substage mirror. The nickel plating is bright and the item is in overall fine condition.
